Short Term Accomodation For Students on Co-op Workterm Or Internship
Our standard leases are for a one year term ending on August 31. We do not accept 4 month terms starting in September, as we are focused on 12 month term leases. We can occasionally offer shorter lease terms at the higher prices listed on this page, relative to our one year term prices. We currently will consider Co-ops, Internships or International ESL students for four month work terms on the dates marked in coloured entries below. A 4 month lease from May 1st 2017 to August 31, 2017 will be charged our best rate , the same as for our standard term leases.
We give much higher preference to applicants that require a one year lease term.
Our primary business is renting furnished rooms for a one year term to students attending a college or university in Ottawa. Typically we have one year leases running from 1st September to the following 31st August. However for various reasons we occasionally will have tenants that wish to sublet or assign their leases. This creates ideal oportunities for co-op students to rent for one semester.
The following table is our price list for all terms other than our standard duration, ending on 31 August 2018. A lease is required, and 1st and last month are required to secure a room. These prices are fixed, we do not negotiate the prices of our rooms, and please do not ask!

The rooms marked not available indicates these rooms are booked from the present to beyond September 1st 2017. Please bookmark us in case you have a future work term in Ottawa.
* Room 0 is is our smallest room, rooms are listed in order of increasing size..

We are in a very convenient location for access by public transportation to many employers, since we are within a 6-7 minute walk to the Baseline bus transit station, and 2 minutes walk to a stop on the #95 route at Woodroffe and David Drive, which is a major arterial route running on the Transitway (a dedicated bus only roadway) through parts of the city. The #95 bus is ideal for co-ops working in government buildings in the downtown area. The #95 bus takes you downtown in about 18 to 24 minutes, depending on which bus stop is your destination.
There are 9 different bus routes that stop on Woodroffe Avenue, at one of three stops that are within a 3 minute walk of our house. These are routes 86, 94, 95, 111, 156, 157, 172, 174, 178. An additional 10 bus routes are available at the Baseline Station terminal, a 6-7 minute walk, or take any of the eleven buses for 1-2 stops to get to the Baseline Station. (Any bus that you see heading north on Woodroffe will take you to the station.)
A system map of the OCTranspo bus system is available in PDF format at this URL.
If you would like to work out for yourself how long will it take to get to your employer's location, try the OCTranspo's travel planner, and enter in the bus stop code number 4018, the code for the nearest major intersection of Woodroffe and Meadowlands. Then insert the address of your employer as the destination. After asking you when you want to travel, the tool will tell you the best bus route, and how much walking you need to do to get to and from the bus stops, an excellent tool!
If you wish to to use the bus system, and wish to obtain the student rate for a bus pass, and you are 19 or under, you will need to have a photo taken at an OC Transpo ticket location. Co-op students will be required to show student ID to show that they are enrolled as a full-time student, and also need a letter from the co-op program employer indicating that they are employing you as a co-op student. Your letter confirming your job offer would be one item suitable for this purpose. Otherwise you will pay the higher adult rate. (Full time students attending an Ottawa University or College only require a student ID and be 19 or under to obtain a bus pass at student rates.)
Shopping is a 10 minute walk to the College Square shopping center (or a couple of minutes by bus). There is a 24 hour convenience store 3 minutes walk away, and several fast food restaurants.
This is a quiet neighbourhood full of single family homes on large lots, and should be much quieter than downtown. There is the Nepean Sportsplex for exercise just a few minutes bus ride south on Woodroffe. There are bike pathways all over the city, and the nearest one is less than one km away. The college library is available for use by the general public, even for loan of books, and it is a 6-7 minute away. A very large branch of the public library is also less than 10 minutes away. Students may obtain a public library card free of charge when they are renting a room for a work term.
